Imports of coffee, tea and spices fell by 2.3pc in the first nine months of 2017

The imports of coffee, tea and spices dropped by 2.3% in the first nine months of 2017 to 41,784 tonnes as compared to the same period in 2016, according to the trade balance on foodstuff.

The value of imported coffee, tea and spices after the first nine months of 2017 exceeded EUR 170.7 million, while in the same period in 2016 it amounted to EUR 166.16 million for 42,783 tonnes of such products brought from the foreign market.

According to the data issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the receipts from coffee exports, tea and spices amounted in the first nine months of last year to EUR 17.38 million for 4,132 tonnes against EUR 16.07 million in the similar period of 2016, when a quantity of 3,610 tonnes was exported.
