ING extends the hub global software in Romania and plans to increase its capacity to over 500 IT experts in the next two years who will develop software solutions at ING Group, part of the convergence process to a single digital banking platform.
One year since its establishment, ING Software Development Center in Romania is working with a community of over 250 IT experts who develop applications and scalable software solutions in all countries where ING operates, with the mission to improve and standardize the customer experience worldwide.
At present, the hub collaborates with 11 branches within the group, developing apps for Core Banking, ATM software, Financial Markets, Data Management etc., with plans to expand services in the near future.
“The projects we are developing have international impact, at the entire ING group level, therefore we seek to hire the best IT experts who can implement these demanding projects, in an industry which is reinventing itself at this moment,” Marian Ion, CEO ING Software Development Center stated.
Internationally, ING wants to accelerate the digital transformation and to converge to a single digital banking platform. Investing in digital transformation announced by ING Group amounts to EUR 800 million in 2016-2021 period, at group level.
ING Software Development Center was established in 2015 to help standardize IT apps within the group and to uniform ING services to its customers, thereby laying the Next Generation Digital Bank foundations.
