The volume of construction works increased in the first seven months of this year, both as gross series and as series adjusted by number of working days and seasonality, by 11.3% and 11.6% respectively against the same period last year, according to data released on Friday by the National Statistics Institute (INS).
“By structure elements (gross series) increases were registered for capital repairs – 15.8%, for maintenance and current repairs works – 11.8% and for new constructions – 10.2%. By construction objects, the volume of works has increased as follows: 15.5% for non-residential buildings, civil engineering by 10.8% and residential buildings by 5%,” reads the INS release.
In July 2015, against the previous month, the volume of business fell by 1.4% as gross series, but increased as series adjusted by number of working days and seasonality by 1.4%. The drop in July was due to the reduction of maintenance and current repairs works by 3.3% and construction of new buildings by 2.8%. Capital repair works increased by 10.3%.
By construction object, engineering constructions fell by 6%. There were increases in residential and non-residential buildings by 9.1% and 3.8% respectively, the release reads.
As compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, the volume of construction works increased both as gross series and as series adjusted by number of working days and seasonality by 15.4% and 15.2% respectively.
