Intel, after 10 years on Romanian market – ambitious expansion plans

Romania has become an important research and development hub for Intel in Europe and worldwide. So, after 10 years of presence in Romania, the American IT giant company announced will continue to expand its operations and local presence on domestic market.
“When we decided to expand our operations on the local market with software operations, we attracted an important investment to Romania. Currently, Intel has a team of 400 employees countrywide and will grow its headcount of software engineers in the Software Technologies Datacenter, part of the Intel Romania Software Development Center.
At the moment, the software development center of the company employs 180 people. The average age of the employees is 30 years old, and women represent 23 percent of the team, according to
Started as a green field project in 2010, the Intel Romania Software and Development Center’s (IRSDC) focus is on IT research and development for next generation computing solutions. With the opening of the IRSDC, Intel Romania joins Intel’s established research and development network across European countries including Germany, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Poland and Finland.
