Works on Comarnic-Brasov highway to begin this year, Transport Minister says
Transport Minister Ioan Rus said that works on Comarnic-Brasov highway will start this year, as authorities are carrying ‘strategic negotiations’ with European banks and technicians to find a variant, namely the construction with European funds or in concession.
“We have several goals, such as Pitesti-Sibiu, Comarnic-Brasov, Iasi-Targu Mures as well as new objectives such as Bacau-Brasov, Pitesti-Craiova, then the carrying on of the Pan European Corridor IV – further works on the Transylvania Motorway. Works on Comarnic – Brasov are to begin this year, we are carrying negotiation with the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, with the state budget, with technicians who have various options to resolve. What I can say is that this year the works on the highway will begin. We are carrying on strategic negotiations, that we build it with European funds or in concession,” said minister Ioan Rus.
Regarding the Sibiu-Pitesti highway, the Transport Minister said that this project has a problem with the complaints already submitted.
