IT market fell to EUR 275m in the first nine months, survey says

The IT market decreased by 13% in the first nine months of this year as compared to the same period in 2015 to EUR 275 million, according to a GfK Temax survey released on Tuesday.

A larger decrease than in IT market was registered by the photo market of 14.2%, down to EUR 16 million. The printers and multifunctional market fell by 0.4% during January-September 2016, to EUR 45 million.

The highest growth was registered by the  large home appliance market of 26.2% to EUR 384 million, followed by small appliances growth of 23% (EUR 115 million) and electronics of 22.1% (to EUR 261 million). Regarding the telecom market, it increased by 18.8% as compared to January-September 2015, to EUR 550 million.

Overall, the market for durables increased by 13.2% to EUR 1.645 billion.

The IT market in Romania recorded sales of EUR 92 million in Q3, down by almost 15% against the same period last year, GfK Temax survey reveals.

GfK Temax is an indicator used by GfK Retail and Technology to monitor consumer durables markets. The results are based on studies conducted periodically on the GfK retail panel. The retail panel comprises data from over 425,000 selling points worldwide.
