Javier Garcia del Valle takes over all shares of Happy Tour travel agency

Company Hey, Be Well! AG, whose sole shareholder is Javier Garcia del Valle, takes over 100% of the shares of the travel agency Happy Tour. For 13 years, Javier Garcia del Valle was a minority shareholder in the agency. The transaction was completed at the end of June, and the new owner intends to capitalize the company with up to 2 million euros in the next period. The law firms Mitel & Asociați, respectively bpv Grigorescu Ștefănică provided assistance for the transaction.

“It was a natural decision after so many years at the helm of the company, even if during 2020 tourism was severely affected by the pandemic, not only here, but all over the world. I have always believed in the potential of Happy Tour and in the business model we have developed over time. Happy Tour is a strong player in tourism, with a very good team of professionals, and the partnership with FCM, the largest travel management company in the world, shows the development potential, both in Romania and in the foreign markets where we operate “, says Javier Garcia del Valle, CEO of Happy Tour.

In 2019, before the pandemic, the turnover of the Happy Tour agency was over 55 million euros. And in 2020, in the context of the pandemic, although the decrease was over 50%, the agency remained one of the market leaders in Romania. Happy Tour has retained most of its employees and its entire portfolio of business travel clients. For this year, it is estimated a recovery of turnover of at least 60% from 2019 and a return on profit.

“We were part of the evolution of Happy Tour and we developed together with the team (many of them still part of the management) a strong company, stable in times of crisis, and with international expansion. Over the years, under the leadership of Javier Garcia del Valle, the services in the leisure area have also developed, Happy Tour becoming one of the largest travel agencies in Romania, with its own offices in Bulgaria and Turkey.

Javier García del Valle has over 35 years of experience in the tourism sector. He spent most of his activity in Spain, Germany, Portugal, Morocco, the United States and China, his career focusing mainly on the general management and strategic development of travel agencies.
