Join UP! appoints an interim CEO in Romania, to hire staff

The Ukrainian tour operator Join UP!, which entered the Romanian market 2 years ago, will have a new CEO in Romania. Kateryna Ushakova, Regional Director Join UP! Europe, takes over the leadership of the local office starting from September 1, after the end of the summer season, and will implement the company’s vision in the next period, from an interim position, until a permanent general manager is appointed. Until that moment, Marius Surdu remains in charge of the company.
Kateryna Ushakova has 20 years of experience in business and management, and since 2022 she has joined the international group Join UP! Among the most important projects managed are the launch and development of local offices in 5 markets, as well as the coordination of a team of more than 100 employees.
The tour operator will increase its sales department and form a support, facilitation and consulting structure for the more than 1,000 partner agencies. The company will further strengthen its local tour portfolio, especially with exotic destinations. To support its plans, the tour operator is looking to hire over 20 people in Bucharest, Suceava, Iasi and Cluj.
