Klass Wagen names former head of  e-commerce at WizzAir as Chief Marketing Officer

Klass Wagen, a Romanian group specializing in car rental, has recruited Dr. Remus Moraru as Chief Marketing Officer, a manager with 15 years of experience in marketing, e-commerce, and business development in companies such as Wizz Air, HotelsCombined, Agoda. The new manager’s key objective is to expand the company, which currently has operations in Romania, Hungary, and Portugal, internationally.

Dr. Remus Moraru (36) joined Klass Wagen in January this year, having previously been head of e-commerce at Wizz Air, Romania’s largest airline company.

With 15 years of experience in the business, Remus has coordinated significant projects, such as improving the user experience and increasing the Wizz Air app rating from 2 to 4.7 stars in App Store and Google Play; developing an effective merchandising framework and implementing an A/B testing focused approach for any product change or development, as well as optimizing the Wizz Air ticket search experience.

“With this appointment, we continue our strategy to expand internationally, especially in Portugal, and to strengthen our leading position in Romania and Hungary in the short-term rental segment. Remus has significant experience in tourism services, customer experience, and digital service improvement”, Norbert Sabou, CEO of Klass Wagen Group.

The manager’s main goals are to create a modern and intuitive digital experience by simplifying the booking process on klasswagen.com and to increase customer satisfaction in their digital interaction with the Klass Wagen brand. It also aims to attract more customers who access and interact directly with the site.

“I plan to bring an approach that will bring new customers to klasswagen.com and build loyalty with our current customers to give them a great experience. My mission is to transform Klass Wagen into a regional and even European leader in the car rental sector,” said Dr. Remus Moraru, Chief Marketing Officer Wagen Group.

The Klass Wagen Group ended 2024 with total sales of €68.5 million, an increase of 13.2% compared to 2023.

The company sustained its operations last year with a fleet of 5,000 vehicles through a strategy focused on balancing demand and optimizing fleet utilization. At the same time, Klass Wagen Group has invested in the development of a new website, CRM systems, Contracts Management, and a customer self-service platform, projects scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025.
