KMG International official: CEFC partnership, a good thing for Romania

The taking over, announced late last year, of 51 percent of KMG International, former Rompetrol Group, a unit of Kazakhstan’s state oil and gas company, by CEFC China Energy Company Ltd, will mean a very long-term partnership that will be beneficial for both the oil company and for Romanian economy, Catalin Dumitru, vicepresident of KMG International said during a press conference on Monday, informs.

Following this agreement, CEFC becomes the second largest player on Romanian fuel market, after Petrom.

China’s sixth largest private company has already acquired 51 percent of Dyneff, Rompetrol’s division in France and Spain, and announced that intends taking over KMG International’s shares.

Meanwile, Rompetrol has plans to open 15 new gas stations this year in Romania.
