Layoffs Announced at Haier Tech Fridge Factory & Four Firms in Prahova

The refrigerator factory in Ariceștii Rahtivani, Haier Tech, has announced plans for layoffs in Prahova, but it is not the only company in the county resorting to such measures, according to Observatorul Prahovean. Companies such as Unilever and the construction company UTI are also on the list of companies planning layoffs in 2025, as reported by the local publication, which presents data from the Prahova County Employment Agency (AJOFM Prahova).

Companies making layoffs in Prahova:

• Unilever South Central Europe SA – 40 people – December 2024 – February 2025
• UTI Construction and Facility Management – 3 people – December 2024
• Georom Management Consult SRL – 11 people – December 2024
• Vicaris SRL – 46 people – February 2025
• Haier Tech SRL – 384 people – April – December 2025

“During the mentioned period, AJOFM Prahova was notified that 484 employees, residing in Prahova County, will be laid off by 5 economic agents,” said AJOFM Prahova.

AJOFM Prahova also mentioned that changes may occur regarding the number of individuals notified by employers in the collective dismissal notification.

The justification for possible changes to the announced list has two explanations. According to AJOFM Prahova, individuals whose employment contracts are terminated often find new jobs quickly, often during the notice period. On the other hand, the source stated that some individuals meet the conditions for retirement and request enrollment in the public pension system.
