Medicover revenues on the local market grew last year by 19.6 percent, to almost EUR 74 million, from EUR 61.9 million in 2016, a press release informs.
Romania was thus the third largest market for the Swedish healthcare and diagnostic services provider, after Germany and Poland, bringing almost 13 percent of total group income.
Medicover is represented on local market by Medicover Romania and Synevo Romania.
”2017 was a prosperous year for the group in which we completed the process of listing on Nasdaq Stockholm and continued to grow both organically and through acquisitions. Market conditions are stable and support our development plans, especially in Poland and Romania”, Fredrik Ragmark, CEO al Medicover, stated.
Last summer, Medicover announced the acquisition of Iowemed medical network in Constanta county, which included five medical centers, of which two in Constanta city, seen as an important strategic step, extending its local footprint.
“The economic growth of the country and of the labor market is reflected in the health benefits provided by employers and supports people’s access to quality health care,” Adrian Peake, General Manager of Medicover Romania also said.
In turn, Laurentiu Luca, General Manager Synevo Romania, noted that the launch of the first department of digital histopathology in South Eastern Europe, within the Synevo Central Lab near Bucharest last year, as well as the increase in the number of blood collection centers, reaching 75 percent of territorial coverage, are among the factors that have led to the growth of the local business
At group level, Medicover reported a revenue increase of 16.7 percent in 2017 year-on-year, to EUR 580.2 million.
