Louis Vuitton, sales of almost EUR 5.50 M last year on the Romanian market

The only store of Louis Vuitton luxury brand in Romania, located within 5-star JW Marriott hotel in Bucharest commercial gallery, increased its sales by 19.5 percent last year to RON 24.4 million (EUR 5.48 million), and generated a net profit by 36 percent higher, amounting to RON 5.3 million (EUR 1.2 million), profit.ro informs. Most of the earnings will be allocated for dividends.

The shareholders of the local store in Romania are Louis Vuitton Malletier – 99 percent and Société des Magasins Louis Vuitton France – 1 percent.

Louis Vuitton opened its store in Romania in the summer of 2008, and the most spectacular increase in turnover had it in 2009, by 72 percent, of RON 18.3 million, then its level has ranged between RON 19.7 million – RON 20,2 million.

Thus, the store has been profitable every year since 2009.

Officially, Louis Vuitton Romania has 8 employees and owns two factories in Avrig and Cisnadie, Sibiu county, being one of the biggest exporters of Romania. Here, the French company does not produce his famous bags, but their components, such as belts or pockets.

The bags’ pieces produced on domestic market are assembled abroad and some of them are returning to Romania as a finished product.
