The number of transactions in Bucharest with luxury dwellings has increased by 12 percent, stimulating the developers to start bigger projects, the Nordis representatives say. The company has a portfolio of 2,400 properties downtown Bucharest.

The luxury dwellings offer during 2014-2015 stands at 500 flats under construction in Soseaua Nordului-Herastrau, Primaverii, Floreasca, Kiseleff and Aviatorilor neighbourhoods.

The company says 40 percent of the buyers aim 3-room flats. The 2-room flats are bought mainly by investors due to lower prices, with high potential for renting in the neighbourhoods preferred by expats. Only 5 percent of the luxury dwellings in 2014 were bachelor flats.

Nordis representatives say it is the first year since 2008 that real estate developers start bigger projects.
