The Oradea-based company M-TechX EU, controlled by Japanese investor Hiroyoshi Sota, will build a research, development, and nanofiber production center in the Smart Specialization Park in Șomcuta Mare, Maramureș County.

The project, with an investment of 5 million euros, aims to stimulate innovation in the field of advanced materials and contribute to the economic development of the region. The new unit will bring state-of-the-art technologies and create opportunities for specialists and collaborations in the field of research, writes 2mnews.

The 5 million euro investment will be directed towards the construction of a modern center dedicated to the research, development and production of nanofibers. Nanofibers are materials with diverse applications, from the medical to the textile industry, due to their unique properties, such as strength and flexibility. The implementation of this project in Şomcuta Mare will contribute to increasing the economic competitiveness of the area and attracting specialists in the field.

The monthly production capacity will be 4,800 kg of nonwoven membrane made of nanofiber (12,000 pieces). The energy required will be obtained from photovoltaic panels. Nanofiber is produced by providing a liquefied raw material ejected at high pressure, according to the cited source.

The Bihor company is managed by Florin Balint, business advisor to the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan and vice president of the National Union of Romanian Employers. Sota controls 60% of the shares, Solar Eco System 32% (owned by Balint) and KB Proiectare și Consultanță – 8% (owned by Brigita Kiss and Ovidiu Terheșiu).
