Romania’s mergers and acquisitions market was of EUR 4-4.5 billion last year, up by 15% as compared to 2016, according to information released on Wednesday by Deloitte Romania officials during a press conference.
According to the company, this figure also includes the transactions with unreleased value.
“The M&A continued to grow in 2017, but it was the more pleasing to note that there were 15 transactions worth between EUR 100 and 500 million, a record performance over the past 10 years,” said Ioana Filipescu, Deloitte Romania partner, consultant for mergers and acquisitions.
The standings by sector shows that energy ranks first, followed by the financial sector. There has also been strong growth in sectors such as Technology, Media, Telecom, Industry and Healthcare.
According to the Deloitte figures, in 2017 the activity of investment funds was high, with an overall level of 13 acquisitions.
