MedLife buys local medical platform SfatulMedicului.ro

MedLife, Romania’s largest private medical services provider, has announced the acquisition of the medical platform sfatulmedicului.ro, the largest hub of medical information in Romania.

Set up 15 years ago, sfatulmedicului.ro tops the ranking of healthcare websites in Romania, reporting a monthly average of over 3.2 visitors and over 12 million views. The platform will preserve the editorial staff following the transaction and the management will be fully independent from MedLife.

„The digital consumption reconfigures the traditional approaches of the consumer, and a new type pf patient is emerging, who wants to be informed and to have access to apps and devices that will make his experience more effective in terms of time and costs(…) So, against this background, we would like to be the first medical operator that has the most dynamic beat of adaptation and transformation to the digital medicine era and the acquisition of SfatulMedicului.ro represents another major step taken in this regard. Besides this purchase, we’ll make other digitization investments,” said Mihai Marcu, President and  CEO MedLife.

This year, MedLife continued expansion by taking over several medical centers in the country, like Polisano in April, Solomed in Arges county in March or Ghencea medical center in February.

MedLife has also scored some national premieres in terms of digitization and technology, performing the first LIVE 360 VR brain surgery or the latest one, a heart surgery with hologram which took place yesterday, June 12.
