Mega Mall gets ‘Building of the Year’ award

Mega Mall, the largest project developed by South African investment fund NEPI (New Europe Property Investments) in Romania, was awarded the ‘Building of the Year’ distinction at the CEEQA Gala – Central Eastern European Quality Awards in April, a press release informs.

The construction comprises the largest contemporary concrete structure in Romania, executed by Bog’Art in 9 months. The achievement was made possible, implementing new technology consisting in Splice Sleeves for precast concrete elements, for the first time in Romania.

The prize was awarded in Poland following a rigorous selection process, based on certain criteria such as commercial success, innovation and design, location and affordability a.s.o.

Mega Mall includes unique elements of architecture, including 10,000 sqm showcases many of them having over 14 meters tall, ten domes with a total area of over 1,250 sqm allowing natural daylight and two massive skylights covering 1,500 sqm.

In addition, the shopping center has also an entire level dedicated to the entertainment and leisure zone, with an area equivalent to two football fields.

CEEQA Awards is the most important international event in the field of investments and real estate development. Already at its thirteenth edition, CEEQA Gala brought together about 700 participants from over 50 countries. The event is organized by CEE Insight Forum in partnership with the British newspaper Financial Times.
