Michele Abbate, the new GM of Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia

Michele Abbate is the new general manager of Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia, the two energy providers owned by Enel Group in Romania, a press release informs.

Michele Abbate has 25 years experience within the Enel group, with a large expertize on sales and customer care. His career started in 1992 in the business area dedicated tot he customer management. He has held various key positions, such as Head of Center Italy Commercial unit, Head of the Market Division/Customer Management, Head of phone and web channel, having the main targets in turning the service channel into a commercial one. The most recent position was Head of Sales for central Italy.

Michele Abbate has a PhD in economy at the University in Palermo and has graduated the Leadership programme within Luiss Business School, as well as the Accelerated Development Programme at London Business School.

As general manager at Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia, Michele Abbate will manage the general business strategy, focusing on expanding the solutions portfolio and will coordinate the group’s supply and sale activities in Romania, but also the customer divisions.

Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia have a market share of 14% on the competition energy market, according to the Regulatory Committee of the National Energy Regulatory Authority’s statistics released in May this year, which ranks Enel first on the energy market in Romania. The two companies have 2.8 clients in the energy and natural gas sectors.

Michele Luigi Grassi, the previous general manager, decided to follow other professional opportunities outside Enel group.
