New cars registrations grew last year by almost 4 pc, confirming market trends

In 2014, the new registrations of road vehicles for passenger transport (meaning new vehicles made in Romania or abroad and imported second-hand vehicle) increased by 3.7 percent compared to 2013, National Institute of Statistics (INS) shows.

Also, the new registrations of vehicles for goods transport increased by 6.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

According to the same INS data, in Q4 2014, the new registrations of buses and minibuses increased 43.4 percent times while the new registrations of passenger cars increased by 9.2 percent compared to the same quarter of 2013. As to the category mopeds and motorcycles a decrease of 11.1 percent was recorded.

In the same period, the new registrations of road vehicles for goods transport increased by 4.6 percent for trailers and semitrailers, by 4.4 percent for road tractors and by 3.2 percent for lorries, respectively.

Compared to Q3 2014, in Q4 2014, the new registrations of road vehicles for passenger transport decreased by 4 percent and the new registrations of road vehicles for goods transport increased by 1 percent.
