Aforti Group, Polish financial group present in Romania since October 2017, has appointed Ionuț Badiu as the General Manager of Aforti Finance Romania IFN S.A., a non-banking financial institution specialized in providing SME loans. Ionuț Badiu has over 12 years’ experience working in local and international financial institutions, in different managerial roles, both in Romania and abroad. His appointment in the GM position comes as a continuation of the strategy of Aforti Capital Group to expand and develop strong financial group in Romania.
Ionuț Badiu’s experience spans 4 different non-banking financial institutions, various organizational departments as well as location. He began his career at Provident Financial Romania in 2007 in Brasov. Between 2007 and 2014, Ionuț occupied different managerial roles within the organization, becoming eventually Divisional Sales Manager responsible for sales efforts of over 1,400 professionals in 15 countries across Romania. In 2014, he continued his career at International Personal Finance in Madrid, Spain where for one year he held position of Business Development Manager and then, within the same organization, the Sales Manager based in Leeds, United Kingdom. In 2016 Ionuț returned to Bucharest, where he took over the position of General Manager of TWINO for one year, and was then appointed General Manager at Zaplo IFN SA, part of 4Finance Capital Group, one of Europe’s largest online and mobile consumer lending group. Ionuț Badiu joined the Aforti Finance IFN team, which currently counts 7 professionals, in the middle of June 2019, for an underdetermined period.

In the first year of his mandate, Ionuț Badiu aims to kickstart the activity of Aforti Finance and reach by the end of 2019 a rate of minimum 500,000 lei provided in loans to local SMEs per month. While strategically, the focus will be on reaching the businesses based in Bucharest and surrounding areas, the management aims to grow the regional sales team in order to build presence thought the whole country. So far out of several loans granted, one was from Bucharest while the other were provided to companies based in Tulcea as well as Sibiu thus validating the direction, which the company plans to undertake.
Aforti Finance was established in April 2018. The company has entered the register of the non-banking financial institutions of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) at the end of October 2018 and has provided its first loan in June 2019. The loan services offered by Aforti Finance in Romania address small and medium-sized enterprises, looking for optimal forms of financing their development plans or ongoing activity.
