New registrations of motor vehicles for passengers transport have increased by 12.9% in the first six months of this year to 151,661 units, as compared to 134,378 units recorded in H1 2014, the National Statistics Institute (INS) informed on Wednesday.
On the other hand, new registrations of road vehicles for transport of goods have increased by 8.2% as compared to the same period last year, reaching in 2015 a number of 44,516 units.
Regarding the vehicles for passenger transport, most registered units were cars, 147,139 units, up by 13.2% against H1 of the previous year.
A significant increase in H1 was recorded in the segment of buses and vans registrations, 1,407 units (+ 44.3% against H1 2014).
Also, compared to the first quarter of 2015, in Q2 April to June), new registrations of road vehicles for passenger transport have increased by 14.9%, while new registrations of road vehicles for transport of goods increased by 7 ,5%.
