The representatives of multinational companies present in Romania (95%) believe that they will be more exposed to tax controls in the future, as a result of changes made to the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS), an online survey conducted by Deloitte Romania informs.

According to the survey, half of the representatives of the Romanian business environment (50%) consider that they will have additional reporting obligations, 17% expect an increase in the corporate income tax owed and 13% expect double taxation of some incomes.

68% also anticipate higher risk that the tax authorities to adjust the intra-group price adjustments during fiscal controls, following the implementation of the country-by-country reporting directive adopted by Romania through GEO 42/2017.

In August-September 2017, Deloitte Romania conducted an online survey on the impact of measures against Base Erosion and Profit Shifting.
