ANAF’s tax audit has identified in the first five months damages related to criminal complaints over EUR 1 billion (RON 4.86 billion), up by about 87% against the same period last year, the National Agency for Tax Administration (ANAF) informs in a press release on Monday.

“The orientation of tax audits by large areas of high fiscal risk and the improvement of taxpayers selection for control resulted in the identification, in the first 5 months, of damages related to criminal complaints submitted to the competent state institutions – for further investigations – worth over EUR 1 billion (RON 4.86 billion),” reads the ANAF release.

“In relation to the first 5 months of last year, the results indicate an increase of about 87% of this index (criminal complaints related damages),” ANAF further informs.
