ANAF repays VAT of RON 1.1 bn in October. Damage of RON 3 bn to state budget at end-September

The National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) refunds this month value added tax (VAT) of almost RON 1.1 billion for the expense accounts with reimbursement decisions until September 9 and for those related to the import transactions settled by September 25, a press release informs.

The expense accounts with compensation and restitution reach RON 988.09 million, of which RON 56.09 million are refunded and it compensates RON 932 million.

The returns with full compensation represent RON 79.66 million, while those with partial compensation – RON 32.68 million.

At the same time, to prevent tax evasion in the first nine months of 2015, tax fraud inspectors checked 26,214 traders, selected following fiscal risk analysis.

As a result of the checks, the inspectors of General Directorate for Tax Fraud (DGAF) set over RON 3 billion as amounts due to state consolidated budget (EUR 678.83 million).

Tax fraud inspectors investigated organized transactional chains in order to avoid tax compliance and they quantified the damage caused to the state budget totaling over RON 2.80 billion, the equivalent of EUR 635.24 million. To ensure the recovery of such damages there were set precautionary measures on some property identified assets worth over RON 1.89 billion (EUR 429.24 million).
