ASF: Compulsory private pension funds had assets of RON 34.75bn on April 30

Private compulsory pension funds had assets of about RON 34.75 billion on April 30, 2017, up by 32.15% against April 30, 2016, according to the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) information released on Monday.

The state securities hold the largest share in the assets, of RON 21.92 billion, respectively 63.09%. Second are the shares, of RON 6.95 billion (20.02%). Bank deposits are ranked third in amount of RON 2.56 billion, i.e. 7.38% of total assets.

According to ASF data, the total asset value of pension funds on Pillar II was of RON 34.75 billion on April 30, 2017, and the net asset value was of RON 34.73 billion.

The mandatory private pension funds had 6,895 million participants in April 2017. According to the ASF data that refer to February this year, 6.751 million are participants for which contributions have been paid since the start of their collection in the system, 4,031 million are participants for which contributions were paid in February, and 2,842 million are participants for which contributions were not paid in December 2016. The ASF data also show that there are 131,032 participants without contributions.

The following pension funds are active on Pillar II: Metropolitan Life Pensions, Aripi, AZT Viitorul tau, BCR, BRD, NN, and Vital.
