Average gross wage reaches RON 3,133, net wage RON 2,380 in June
The average gross wage increased by 0.8% in June against the previous month, up to RON 3,313, whereas the net wage increased by 0.7% to RON 2,380, the National Statistics Institute (INS) informs.
The highest wages were registered in the IT (RON 5,853) and the lowest in hotels and restaurants (RON 1,400).
The highest increases were registered in oil and gas extraction (+15.3%), editing, computer manufacturing, electronics and optical devices, financial intermediation (+6.5-11.5%).
Decreases in the average net wage were registered in forestry (by 13.4%), metallic ores extraction, oil processing, manufacturing of vehicles (4-8.5%), metallurgy, scientific and technical activities, transports, transmission by pipelines, research, insurance, pension funds (2-3.5%).
For state employees the average net wage increased against the previous month in public administration by 1.1%, in health and social assistance (+0.5%). In education the net average wage fell by 1.1% against the previous month.
INS also informs that in June 2017 against June 2016 the average net wage was by 14.5% higher.
Compared to the evolution of consumer prices, the real earning index was 100.7% in June 2017 as compared to the previous month, and as compared to October 1990 it stood at 179.7%, by 1.2 percentage points higher than in May 2017.
