Bancpost turned on profit in 2015 – RON 35.2 M

Bancpost, part of Greek group Eurobank, ended 2015 with a net profit of RON 35.2 million, “a result which continues the positive trajectory registered since the first quarter of 2015 and which are due to the transformation process successfully implemented in the bank”, a press release informs on Wednesday.

Bank’s operational expenses registered a significant decrease by 16,4 percent, comparing with the end of 2014. The cost-to-income ratio decreased by 5 percent to 76 percent. Furthermore, the greek bank has a loan-to-deposit ratio maintained a constant level (78 percent), aspect which supports the financial institution’s capacity to self-fund its operations.

“2015 marked the return to profitability for Bancpost. 2015 being also the year which offered real perspective of growth. Bancpost is now ready for a long-term business growth and will continue to support, as a systemic bank, the economy and its clients”, George Georgakopoulos, CEO of Bancpost, stated.

Also, NPL ratio of Greek group subsidiary in Romania reached 16,6 percent. Capital adequacy ratio increased to 20.51 percent at the end of 2015, compared to 18.75 percent in December 2014.
