The Cotnari wines have won five medals at the Vinalies 22nd International Competition, which was held in Paris under the patronage of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) that took place during February 26 to March 1, 2016, according to a company release.

The competition in Paris was attended by more than 3,500 wine samples from more than 40 countries. The international jury in Paris has awarded both the wines of the winery in Iași (Grasa de Cotnari from 1985 and 2000) and the wines from the 2015 production (Blanc Cotnari, Tămâioasă Românească demisec and Tămâioasă Românească sweet).

Before this contest, the famous wines from Iași were awarded six medals at the Chisinau contest. The release reads that “young wines from the 2015 production prove that the vineyard in eastern country will be highly represented at the international contests in the years to come.”
