Daniel Daianu, elected President of the Fiscal Council
The Fiscal Council announced on Wednesday that Daniel Daianu, former non-executive member of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Romania (BNR), has been elected president and Bogdan-Octavian Cozmânca has been appointed as vice-president, being nominated by BNR.
“On July 16, 2019 the meeting of the Fiscal Council took place, when the president and vice-president of the institution have been elected. Following the secret vote of the members expressed on the basis of Art. 56 of the Fiscal-Budgetary Responsibility Act no. 69/2010, Mr. Acad. Daniel Dăianu has been elected as Chairman of the Fiscal Council, and as vice-president has been elected Mr. Bogdan-Octavian Cozmânca,” the communiqué reads.
At the beginning of July, the Parliament plenary validated the five new members of the Fiscal Council: Daniel Dăianu, Bogdan-Octavian Cozmâncă, George Georgescu, Georgiana Camelia Creţan and Sebastian Bogdan Căpraru. Daianu gave up his role as a member of the Board of Directors with BNR.
