The Senators passed a bill on Tuesday requiring the supermarkets to put on sale meat, vegetables and fruits 51% produced in Romania, digi24.ro informs.
Otherwise, they could be fined up to RON 50,000. Exception from the rule will be made during the winter months, when imported fruits and vegetables may represent 70 percent of the total offer on the shelves.
The final decision on the draft law belongs to the Chamber of Deputies.
