Economy Minister Mihai Tudose has met Monday morning the US Ambassador in Bucharest, Hans Klemm (photo), a press release informs. One of the subjects discussed was the Sovereign Development and Investment Fund. According to the release, the idea of creating a sovereign investment fund in order to stimulate the national economy has been also agreed by the European and international institutions such as the European Commission, IMF, OECD, etc.
“Minister Mihai Tudose spoke about the steps taken by the ministry in order to start and continue the approaches to create FSDI and also about its purpose, namely the development and funding of profitable and sustainable investment projects in competitive sectors, through the direct participation or together with institutional and retail investors,” the statement reads.
The meeting provided the opportunity for review of bilateral economic relations and of the American projects in Romania such as Ford, Exxon, Bell Helicopters.
