Electrica: Net profit of RON 277m in H1, up 30 pc against last year


Electrica, supplier and distributor of electricity has reported for the first half of the year a consolidated net profit of RON 277 million, up by RON 64 million or by 30% as compared to H1 last year, according to a company release.
The operating profit in H1 2015 was of RON 317 million, by 14% higher than in the same period of 2014.
In the six-month period which ended on June 30, 2015, Electrica recorded an operating income of RON 2.725 billion, up by RON 237 million, or by 9.5%, against the same period last year.
This significant increase is due to several factors, namely the increased revenues from electricity distribution segment by RON 79 million, or 7%, to RON 1.219 billion, a trend which is due to the increased amount distributed by 6% against the same period of 2014, in line with the forecasts, while revenues from electricity supply segment grew by RON 103 million, or 5%, to RON 2.166 billion.
