Fin Min Teodorovici wants the Customs out from ANAF subordination, normative act to be adopted in July
The normative act regarding the taking out of the Customs from the subordination of the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) will be presented for public debate in June and will be adopted in July, Finance Minister Eugen Teodorovici said on Wednesday, during the forum regarding the Integrated Management of the Borders in the context of Romania’s presidency of the Council of the European Union.
“Mrs. President Mirela Calugareanu, new ANAF chief, has as first task, one of the many tasks, to present in a short period of time a package of normative acts which are to bring the structural change of the Customs. Meaning taking it out from ANAF subordination, placing it under the authority of the Finance Minister, not subordinated. Meaning total independence, let’s say. (…) The ordinance and the government decision will be publicly presented for debates, to see how this structure will be made and I believe that, by the end of June, it will be presented, so that the act is adopted in July,” Eugen Teodorovici said, capital.ro informs.
He mentioned ‘voices’ from within and outside the system that do not want the change, the split from ANAF, because they want to weaken the Customs system.
The Finance Minister said a statute for the Customs’ staff is needed and for ANAF in order to stabilize the personnel.
