The Ministry of Transport has signed a EUR 160 million contract with a Turkish company, for 16 km of motorway, out of the entire 51 km length of the future A0 – the Bucharest ring motorway.
The highway, made up of three lots, should be completed by 2022 if works are going according to the plans, digi24.ro informs.
Lot no. 2, which will connect the highway to Pitesti to the one to Constanta, is to be finalized in three and a half years, according to the project.
According to the national road company, the Turkish constructor wants to leave a good impression and to complete the works sooner.
“He said he will complete the contract in advance, in no way he does not want to exceed the deadline,” said Narcis Neaga, CNAIR Director General.
Transport Minister Razvan Cuc said he hopes to see the contract completed. “I only want to draw the attention not to act like other companies, which after signing the contract come and submit various claims,” he said.
The Turkish company will also build Lot no. 1, but so far the situation is not clear.
