Former pub owner, appointed State Secretary with the Finance Ministry

Eleodor Mandreș has been appointed State Secretary with the Ministry of Public Finances (MFP) by a decision signed on Wednesday by PM Mihai Tudose, published by the Official Gazette.

Mandreș is the founder of ‘The Bankers’ pub downtown Bucharest, in the Old Town.

Five years ago Mandreș was proposed by PNL for the office of Eximbank Vice-president, but was rejected by the National Bank. He acted for two weeks as State Secretary with the Finance Ministry in 2014, digi24.ro informs.

In his house in Bucharest is the headquarters of the company which owns ‘The Bankers’ pub. He had founded the pub together with Sergiu Diaconu. At the end of 2012 he surrendered his shares to Vasile Ioan Pop.

Mihai Eleodor Mandreș was head dealer with ING Bank on the currency market and also acted in the managing teams of state banks such as Eximbank and CEC Bank. The source mentions he has an impressive wealth.
