Industrial production increased by 1.7pc in 2016

In December 2016, the industrial production decreased against the previous month, as gross series, by 13.3% and grew as adjusted series, according to the working days and seasonality, by 1.6%. As compared to December 2015, the industrial output, as gross series and as adjusted series grew by 3.6% and by 3.9% respectively, the national Statistics Institute (INS) reports.

Industrial production was in 2016 by 1.7% higher as gross series as compared to 2015.

The industrial production, as gross series, grew by 3.6% due to the higher supply of electric and heating power, natural gas, heated water and air conditioned (+6.7%) and of the processing industry (+3.7%). The mining and quarrying industry decreased by 8.3%.
