Industrial production up by 25 pc in September, up by 3 pc in nine months. Electric power output up by 4.3 pc, exports hike 41 pc

Industrial output grew by 25.5% as gross series in September this year against the previous month, while in the first nine months of 2015 the industrial production recorded an advance of 3% as compared to the same period last year, according to a National Statistics Institute (INS) press release.
The industrial production growth was sustained in September by the growth in manufacturing (+ 29.7%) and mining and quarrying (+ 2.9%). The production and supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning has decreased by 4.6%.
In September, as compared to same month of previous year, the industrial production increased both as gross series and as series adjusted by number of working days and seasonality, by 3.9% and 3.4% respectively.
On the other hand, the advance of industrial production in the first nine months was generated by growth in manufacturing (+ 3.6% as gross series and seasonally adjusted) and of the production and supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (+ 2.3% and + 2.7% gross series the seasonally adjusted series). Mining and quarrying has decreased by 9.7% as gross series and by 9.5% in seasonally adjusted series.

Electricity resources exceeded 51.25 billion KWh in the first nine months of this year, up by 9.6% as compared to the corresponding period in 2014, while the production increased by 4.3%, to 48.49 billion KWh, while imports climbed to 2.76 billion KWh, up by over 2.47 billion KWh.
According to the National Institute of Statistics, final consumption exceeded 39.23 billion KWh, by 6.3% higher than the same period last year.
Exports of electricity increased by 40.9% to 7.54 billion KWh.
