Industrial production, up by 8.3pc in 11 months
Industrial production was by 8.3% higher in the first 11 months of last year, as compared to the same period in 2016, according to a press release issued by the National Statistics Institute of Statistics on Thursday.
“During January-November 2017, industrial production (as gross series) increased by 8.3% as a result of the increases in the three industrial sectors: manufacturing (+9.0% ), the mining and quarrying industry (+6.0%) and the production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning (+1.2%),” the document reads.
As adjusted series by number of working days and seasonality, the output increased by 8.9%.
“In November 2017, the industrial output decreased by 0.7% as gross series against the previous month and increased by 0.7% as adjusted series by number of working days and seasonality. As compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, the industrial production increased, both as gross series and as series adjusted by number of working days and seasonality, by 9.2% and 9.5% respectively,” INS informs.
