BVB-listed companies value has increased by EUR 8 bn in four years

The market value of all companies listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) has increased significantly over the last four years.

According to a press release, the Romanian and foreign companies listed on BVB at end-July, 2013, had a cumulative capitalization of EUR 23.2 billion. From then until July 31, 2017, their total capitalization went up by 53 percent to EUR 35.5 billion.

As regards the evolution of the Romanian companies listed on the local capital market, it grew from EUR 12.3 billion on 31 July 2013 to over EUR 20.2 billion on July 31this year, meaning a capitalisation increase of over 64 percent.

“The value of Romanian companies listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange grew by almost EUR 8 billion in just four years,” BVB President Lucian Anghel said.

As the local capital market takes steps towards promoting the Emerging Market status, the access to larger capital flows will increase. Once this promotion has been achieved, Romania will have access to funds over 20 times higher than as present.
