National currency falls close to record low level against the EUR

The national currency has depreciated on Wednesday, reaching a level very close to the record low against the European single currency. The reference exchange rate communicated by the National Bank of Romania (BNR) is RON 4.7622 per EUR.

This level is identical to the one on January 9. In January, given the political disputes regarding the controversial GEO 114/2018 the national currency reached 11 consecutive historic lows against the EUR, the lowest level being 4.7648 units.

Other currencies: the US Dollar has depreciated against the RON to 4.2114 units and the Swiss franc has depreciated to 4.1761 units.

The gram of gold is down to RON 172.6517.
