The net average salary reached in March RON 2,051, up by RON 101 (5.2%) against the previous month, as the biggest increases were in the manufacturing of tobacco products (RON 6,347) and the lowest in hotels and restaurants (RON 1,161), according to data released by the National Statistics Institute on Monday.
Gross earnings have reached RON 2,829, up by 5.1% against February 2016.
According to the INS data, as compared to March last year, the net nominal average earnings increased by 12.1% and the real earning index against the same period last year was of 115.5%.
The real earnings index was 105.1% for March 2016 as compared to the previous month, while compared to October 1990 the real earnings index was 156.1%, by 7.5 percentage points higher than in February 2016.
In the budgetary sector the net average earnings in education against the previous month was up (4.3%), and in public administration (2.2%) as well as in health and social assistance (1.4%).
