The net average wage earnings increased in February to RON 2,487, i.e. 11.2%, against February 2017, the National Statistics Institute informs on Wednesday.
In January, the net average wage earnings increased by 8%, to RON 2,484, as compared to January last year.
In February, the real wage earnings index against the same month of the previous year was 106.2%.
The real wage earnings index (wage growth considering the consumer price evolution) was 99.8% in February 2018 against the previous month.
Compared to October 1990, the real wage earnings index was 180.6%, by 0.3 percentage points lower than the one recorded in January 2018.
The largest increases of the net average wage earnings were of 12.8% in the manufacture of basic pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical products, respectively of 10.1% in the manufacture of tobacco products.
The largest decrease was in February against January, of 7% in insurance, reinsurance and pension funds (excluding those in the public social insurance system).
