Net earnings up to RON 9.92/hour in 2014

The net average hourly earnings increased by 7.8% last year as compared to 2013, reaching RON 9.92/hour, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).
“The average gross hourly earnings was in 2014 of RON 13.60/hour, by 7.9% higher against the previous year. The net average hourly earnings increased by 7.8% compared to 2013, reaching RON 9.92/hour,” INS informs.
“As compared to the national average, in 2014 average gross hourly earnings higher by 80% were recorded in the following economic activities: financial intermediation and insurance (2.2 times), mining and quarrying (+ 96.2% ), information and communications (+ 91.5%), production and supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (+ 84.4%). By 25% lower than the average in the economy stood the gross hourly average earnings of the following activities: hotels and restaurants (-43.8%), other services (-32.9%), construction (- 26.4%), entertainment activities, entertainment and recreation (-26.4%), activities of administrative services and support services (-26.3%),” INS further informs.
