Net investments in economy fell by 0.2pc in H1

Net investments in the Romanian economy have dropped by 0.2% in the first half of this year, as compared to the same period in 2016, to over RON 29.7 billion, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS) on Friday.

“In the first half of 2017, as compared to the first half of the year 2016, net investments in the national economy decreased by 0.2%, a decrease of the following structural elements: other expenditures by 10.1% and for machinery (including means of transport) by 0.6%. Investments in new construction works increased by 2.2%,” the release reads.

In terms of the second quarter, investments amounted to more than RON 16.9 billion, up by 1.9% against Q2 2016.
