New historical minimum of macroeconomic trust indicator in February

The macroeconomic trust indicator of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Romania reached a historic minimum, 55.5 points in February 2016, the lowest in the last 12 months, down by 0.6 points from the previous month, mainly due to the expectations component, a press release informs.

Thus, the indicator of current conditions stood to 62, a value up by 1.3 points, while the indicator of anticipations was down by 1.5 points to 52.2.

According to CFA Romania, the exchange rate EUR/RON, the average values of anticipations for a horizon of 6 months recorded an anticipated course of 4,4600 (compared to 4,5500 in January), and for 12 months – 4,4500 (compared to 4,5500 previously)

The expected inflation rate for the horizon of 12 months (March 2017 / March 2016) posted an average value of 1.00 percent (similar to the previous year).

The macroeconomic trust indicator takes values between zero (lack of trust) and 100 (complete trust in the Romanian economy) and is calculated on the basis of six questions regarding the current conditions referring to the business environment and the work market and the anticipations for a time horizon of a year for the business environment, work market, the evolution of the personal income at economy level and the evolution of the personal wealth.
