The number of individuals registered at the Credit Office with debts of more than 30 days to banks and non-banking financial institutions (NFI) decreased by 5,103 to 643,770 in February, compared to January, the National Bank of Romania (BNR) data reveal.
At the same time, the amount of arrears rose in February to RON 8.03 billion, down by 0.69 percent compared with the previous month, of which over RON 3 billion were in local currency, equivalent to RON 3.34 billion in euros, RON 1.59 billion equivalent in other currencies and RON 47.4 million equivalent in US dollars.
More than 90 days overdue accounted over RON 4.53 billion. Also, the central bank statistics show that there were debts of RON 52.1 million, with a delay of 61-90 days, RON 37.3 million respectively, between 31-60 days.
The total amount of written off loans exceeded RON 1.41 billion, while cash loans reached almost RON 2 billion.
Loans debts to companies and households amounted to over RON 13.6 billion at the end of February, their value decreasing by 35.7 percent compared to that recorded at the end of the same month of 2016.
