OMV Petrom, fined by the Environmental Guard for operating 25 undocumented wells

OMV Petrom Romania has been fined RON 60,000 by the Olt County National Environmental Guard for the operation of 25 wells without having the necessary documents.

“The company carried out crude oil extraction operations with Cluster wells – a number of 25 wells – without having any environmental documents for their operation, for which it was fined RON 60,000,” said the Chief commissioner of the Olt County Environment Guard, Gheorghe Neacsa.

Olt County Environment Guard Commissioners also fined OMV Petrom two years ago by RON 25,000 for accidental pollution produced at their wells in the Bărăşti locality.
