Romania’s beverages and tobacco exports reach EUR 557m in first two months of 2017

Romania exported beverages and tobacco reached EUR 557.6 million, by EUR 162.1 million below the similar period last year, during the first two months of 2017, the National Statistics Institute (INS) reports.
The imports of beverages and tobacco were of EUR 363 million, by EUR 25.7 million lower against January-February 2015, leading to a surplus of EUR 194.6 million in this segment.
In the field of beverages production were working about 20,000 people and in the tobacco field about 1,800 people, the average wage amounting to RON 2,309 and RON 3,809 respectively.
