Romania’s EU funds absorption situation, unchanged in July

The absorption rate of European (EU) funds in July was at the same level as in the previous month, respectively 76.69 percent in 2007-2013 financial period, according to the Ministry of European Funds (MFE) data.

The expenses value sent to European Commission (EC) was over EUR 14.6 billion on July 31. Regarding the effective absorption rate, respectively the repayment from EC, it increased by 3.29 percentage points to 71.76 percent (EUR 13.6 billion).

On the Sectoral Operational Programme ‘Increasing of Economic Competitiveness’ (OPIEC), the current absorption rate was 90.02 percent, on the Technical Assistance Operational Programme (OPTA)  -97.71 percent, on the Sectoral Operational Programme Environment (SOP ENV) – 77.45 percent, on the Regional Operational Programme (ROP) – 83.91 percent, on the Sectoral Operational Programme Human Resources Development (SOP HRD) – 65.14 percent, while on the Sectoral Operational Programme – Transport (SOPT) – 68.8 percent and on Operational Programme for Administrative Capacity (OPAC) – 98.66 percent.

On Friday, August 5 it was the deadline of the last intermediary payment submission for ROP, SOP HRD, OPIEC, OPTA.

The deadline for SOPT is set on September 5.
